Here at The Green Register, we are always looking for products that can make your home and office more sustainable. One helpful eco-friendly tip that we are constantly reminding our readers to take action on is the programmable thermostat.

For today’s Green Minute, we have found a great video about a new kind of programmable thermostat, that saves energy and money. It is called “Nest.

As you can see, most people leave the house at one temperature and forget to change it. The Nest learns your schedule, programs itself and can be controlled from your phone. Once the Nest learns your everyday rhythm, it can lower your heating and cooling bills up to 20%.

Check out all the benefits, environmentally and economically at the Nest website.

    I have a Pro1 Z955w
    Thermostat
and so far it has saved me thousands of dollars on my electric bills over the years. However, now the new nest is out. Has any one done any comparisons to see if the cost to replace my existing would benefit me in the long run?
