Daily Round-Up For March 26, 2013

Mar 26, 13 Daily Round-Up For March 26, 2013

Welcome welcome! The Daily Round-Up is redOrbit’s collection of all the most important news and happenings to go on in the wonderful world of music. I hope you all are considerably well-rested and recharged from your respective Spring Break vacations, and I am sorry that the Round-Up had to face yet another bump in consistent output. But everything is back to normal and we are back on the grind! There’s is lots to catch up on, so let’s get right down to business!

Electronic music superstar Zedd has put out a new track, featuring a guest spot from Bright Lights. Props to Zedd for getting Bright Lights, who is a bit of a more obscure, alternative type of musician, to feature on this track. You can listen to the song, entitled “Follow You Down,” by following the link back to Oh So Fresh Music.

Dubstep pioneer James Blake also released another track, this one presumably off of his upcoming sophomore record. You can listen to “Our Love Comes Back” by following the link back to Consequence of Sound.

Alternative rockers Sigur Ros, after finishing up work on their most recent EP, have announced that they will be releasing a new full-length record, entitled Kveikur. You can read all about the new record by following the link back to We All Want Someone To Shout For.

If you are a fan of out-of-this-world, underground rap genius, then you might have heard of the mysterious, inconsistent, and ungodly talented rapper Jay Electronica. Though he is yet to release a full-length LP, he has garnered a fierce following based solely on the merits of a few mixtapes, EPs, and random tracks. And unless I’ve been sleeping under a rock, he has yet to release that first full-length, which he has been hinting at for years. Naturally, Jay Electronica is prone to long stretches of inactivity and sketchiness. But when he makes an appearance, as he does on this new track that he has debuted, it always has a pretty solid chance of being a fantastic piece of music. You can listen to the new track and see what you think by following the link back to Consequence of Sound. I personally love it; enough to bestow this song with the first post-spring break Track of the Day designation!

And, in news that does not need much more explanation besides the headline, it is being reported that there is going to be a statue of Amy Winehouse erected in Camden. Freaking awesome. You can read the whole story and check out all of the undoubtedly crazy cool details by following the link back to The Line of Best Fit.

And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! And check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love? As always, you can contact me through my email, or through Twitter @robincopple1. If you like, I can include your message in a future edition of the Round-Up!

Stay safe you guys! I love you all.
