Jet Nearly Collided With UFO Over Reading

Jan 26, 14 Jet Nearly Collided With UFO Over Reading

UFOs are a controversial topic. Sightings are reported almost daily around the world. Many can be explained, but the ones that are unidentifiable are what we call UFOs. Are they from outer space, or just flying objects that can’t be identified?

Some believe whole heartedly in flying spacecrafts from another world. Some say there is no such thing, while others are neutral on the subject. Many people have claimed to see one or more of these UFOs.

A UFO can consist of many different things. An object hovering in the sky, mysterious lights at night, or only something flying by that’s just not identifiable.

Such is the case that happened recently over Reading, Berk in the UK. A Thomas Cook jet that was returning tourists from the Spanish holiday island of Ibiza encountered a “rugby ball” shaped UFO that was a bright silver color and of a metallic composition. Apparently it flew by within feet of the aircraft, according to the Telegraph.

The incident was investigated by authorities from the UK Airprox Board, but they were unable to establish the identity of the object.

On July 13, 2013, the jet was on a return flight from Ibiza to the Manchester International airport, flying at an altitude of 34,000 feet and traveling at 516 mph when the incident occurred.

At 6:35 pm, the captain of the jet viewed an unidentified object flying towards his aircraft out of the left-side cockpit window. The pilot stated there was no time for evasive action and ducked as the object nearly collided with their jet, missing it by only a few feet, according to the pilot.

“(The captain) was under the apprehension that they were on collision course with no time to react. His immediate reaction was to duck to the right and reach over to alert the FO (First Officer); there was no time to talk to alert him. The Captain was fully expecting to experience some kind of impact with a conflicting aircraft,” the report stated.

After the mysterious craft passed by, the captain checked the instruments and reported the occurrence to air traffic controllers, but the craft had disappeared. Data was checked and no other aircraft was in the area at the time of the incident. Furthermore, the investigation eliminated the possibility of it being a balloon of some kind. Military radar operators were contacted, but they were unable to follow the object in question.

“This latest sighting is interesting, because it is detailed and clear. These pilots don’t file these reports for something and nothing. There was obviously something there,” Dr. David Clarke, the UFO consultant for the National Archives told the Telegraph, according to the Huffington Post.

“All our pilots are trained and required to report any unexpected events that occur during the flight to the aviation authorities,” a spokesman for Thomas Cook Airlines said. According to the National Air Traffic Control Services, about one incident per month with a UFO occurs.

Whatever it may have been; it seems to initiate the fact that there may be something out there and we, as the human race, leave it as unexplained.
