Weather Forecast for North America on September 18, 2013

High pressure along the eastern US will keep the region partly cloudy and cool, while showers and thunderstorms will be along the frontal boundary over the Plains and spreading towards the Great Lakes and Gulf Coast. The western US will enjoy partly cloudy skies, while showers will be over southern Alaska and Greenland. Temps will be in the 20’s over Greenland and the 30’s over a good portion of northern Canada, while temps warm to the 50’s along the east coast of Canada. Expect to see the 60’s in the northeast US, while temps will warm to the 80’s over the southeast and Gulf Coast with a few 90’s, as well. Temps will be in the 80’s over the Plains, along with a good portion of the Rockies. Temps will fall into the 60’s over portions of the West Coast.

Weather Forecast for South America on September 18, 2013

Peru to Brazil will see partly cloudy skies. This will extend southward into northern Argentina along with northern Chile, while a frontal boundary moving through will bring rain and snow showers to southern Chile and Argentina again. Brazil will see temps in the 80’s, while the 70’s will dominate from Peru to northern Argentina. Expect 30’s to be over southern Argentina along with southern Chile.

Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on September 18, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will prevail over most of Europe, while tropical storm Humberto continues tracking over the open Atlantic, slowly drifting to the north. Expect sunny skies from Spain to Italy and into the Middle East. Temps will be in the 60’s over western and northern Europe, warming to the 80’s over Southern Spain into Italy. Temps will soar into the 100-110 range for the Middle East.

Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on September 18, 2013

Northern Africa will see partly cloudy skies, while central Africa will have mostly cloudy skies with showers along the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Southern Africa and Madagascar will see partly cloudy skies along with another breezy day. The majority of Africa will see temps in the 80’s and 90’s, with the only exception being in the higher elevations along the east coast and also over southern Africa.

Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on September 18, 2013

The southwest monsoon will bring increased showers and thunderstorms from Sri Lanka to India and to the east around Singapore. Afternoon thunderstorms will be possible from Singapore to Malaysia and into Thailand along with Vietnam. Temps will range from the 80’s to 90’s across the entire region.

Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on September 18, 2013

A frontal boundary will be pushing across Russia and towards eastern China. This will create showers and thunderstorms from northeast Russia into portions of Japan along with the Korea’s and eastern China. Afternoon thunderstorms will be possible from Hong Kong to Taiwan, along the Manila and Guam. We are also watching the track of Usagi, which is forecasted to move over Taiwan. Temps will be in the 50’s over most of northeast Russia with a few 40’s possible, as well. Temps will warm to the 60’s over northern Japan and the 70’s over the Korea’s, and also into Japan and Tokyo. Temps will be in the 80’s over eastern China, southward into Hong Kong and over Manila along with Guam.

Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for September 18, 2013

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible over southwest Australia along the frontal boundary, while partly cloudy skies will persist from Brisbane to Sydney and into portions of New Zealand. Northern Australia will see temps in the 70’s, cooling to the 50’s and 60’s over southwest Australia and also southeast Australia.
