International Weather Outlook: May 1, 2013
Weather Forecast for North America on May 1, 2013
High pressure will bring partly cloudy skies to Greenland, all along the east coast of Canada and also the east coast of the United States. A storm system moving through the central Plains will bring rain, thunderstorms to the southern Plains and Gulf Coast and snow for the Rockies and parts of the Plains region. Expect a nice day along the west coast of the US and into western Canada. The cold air will start to push back into Greenland and Iceland where high temps will only be in the 20’s. Expect 50’s and 60’s along the east coast of Canada and into the northeast, while 70’s will be possible throughout the southeast along with a few 80’s into Florida. A strong area of cold air will begin to bring below normal temperatures back to the Plains, with places in Texas dropping below freezing again. The Pacific Northwest will be rather cool as well.
Weather Forecast for South America on May 1, 2013
Partly cloudy skies will dominate the weather from Chile all the way eastward into Brazil and southward towards Argentina; no major weather is forecasted for South America. A warm up is in store as the 80’s will dominate most of Brazil, while the 70’s will encompass a large part of South America. The cool spots will be along the West Coast and into Southern Argentina, with some places not getting out of the 40’s.
Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on May 1, 2013
A few lingering showers will be possible over the Scandinavia; otherwise the remainder of Europe will enjoy partly cloudy skies from London to Madrid and sunny skies from Germany into Italy. The Middle East will also see partly cloudy skies. Scandinavia will see high temps in the 40’s, while the 60’s dominate from England to Spain. The 70’s and 80’s will cover from Spain all the way over into Italy and northward towards Germany. The Middle East will see high temps in the 90’s and a few 100’s.
Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on May 1, 2013
Partly cloudy skies will stretch over northern Africa. This will also extend southward throughout Africa and into South Africa, as there are no major weather impacts forecasted outside of partly cloudy skies. Partly cloudy skies will also be found over the Cape Verde Islands and Madagascar. The northwest and south-central part of Africa will see high temps in the 70’s, while the rest of Africa will be in the 80’s and 90’s.
Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on May 1, 2013
Hot and dry for northern India, a few clouds will spread from Sri Lanka eastward into Singapore; no rain is expected. A few afternoon showers will be possible through Jakarta and into Malaysia. The heat will be on in this region with high temps for New Delhi approaching the 100 mark and Singapore getting close to the 90’s; this will also be the case for Jakarta and Malaysia.
Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on May 1, 2013
Partly cloudy skies will dominate the weather from northeast Russia southward into Japan and the Korea’s as high pressure will be in control. High pressure will also bring partly cloudy skies to portions of eastern China. Sunny skies and warm weather will stretch from Hong Kong into Manila and eastward towards Guam. Northeast Russia will see high temps in the 30’s, while the 50’s and 60’s will dominate the weather from the Korea’s through Central Japan. Look for some 70’s in southern Japan and into eastern China. The 80’s will be found over Hong Kong and the mid 90’s through Manila. Guam will be in the upper 80’s.
Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for May 1, 2013
A tropical cyclone towards the northeast of Australia will bring showers and stronger winds to portions of northeast Australia, while the rest of the country enjoys partly cloudy skies. There will also be partly cloudy skies into New Zealand. Western Australia will see high temps in the upper 70’s to mid 80’s, while the cooler weather will be over northeast Australia with all the cloud cover temps will be in the lower 70’s. Temps in the 50’s will be in place for Sydney and New Zealand.
