International Weather Outlook: March 23, 2013
Weather Forecast for North America on March 23, 2013
Low pressure in the southwest United States will be responsible for bringing rain showers to the Southern Plains, snow showers to the Rockies and Central Plains, while severe weather will develop ahead of the storm in the Gulf Coast region. High pressure over Mexico will bring sunny skies to the region. Low pressure moving away from the northeast United States will bring snow and strong winds to Iceland and portions of Greenland. A weak frontal boundary will bring some light rain showers to portions of Western Canada. Another cold day is in store for a good portion of North America from Canada southward into the Sothern Plains, with the warmest weather over the Gulf Coast and West Coast.
Weather Forecast for South America on March 23, 2013
A frontal boundary moving in from the west will bring showers to portions of the western coast, also look for some showers to develop along the Inter-tropical Convergence zone in northern South America. High pressure over Brazil will bring partly cloudy skies to that portion of the country. The majority of the country will see temps in the upper 80’s to lower 90’s. The coolest places will be along the west coast in the higher elevations of the Andes where high temps may only make it to the upper 40’s and lower 50’s.
Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on March 23, 2013
A strong area of low pressure will be moving towards England and will bring showers and snow to the region. A second area of low pressure moving through central Europe will bring snow showers to the region and also rain to Italy. High pressure over the Middle East will create a warm and dry day for the region. Look for 60-70’s from France and Spain southeastward into Italy. England will see temps in the 40’s, while places in Scandinavia will have high temps in the 20-30’s. Another hot day in store for places throughout the Middle East expect to see high temps in the upper 80’s to lower 90’s.
Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on March 23, 2013
A weak area of low pressure will move through central Africa creating a widespread area of showers and thunderstorms for the area. High pressure to the west will begin to bring partly cloudy skies to South Africa. While another area of high pressure will bring dry and warmer weather to the northern part of Africa. High pressure will bring cooler northerly winds to the Cape Verde Islands. Look for partly cloudy skies to spread through Madagascar. The northern part of the country will see high temps in the upper 70’s while the rest of the country deals with upper 80’s to lower 90’s.
Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on March 23, 2013
High pressure over Southeast Asia will keep a good portion of the region, dry with a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible through Singapore and Thailand. A very warm day in store for the region with temps in the lower 80’s to upper 80’s for the entire region.
Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia on March 23, 2013
Low pressure to the north of Japan will bring some snow showers to the Kuril Islands and also northeast Russia, while high pressure over Japan will bring partly cloudy skies to the region. A weak storm system will be moving through eastern China and will bring some light snow to places like Shanghai and into portions of the Korea’s. A nice day with light easterly trade winds for Manila, which will keep the region dry for the day. Hong Kong will see temps in the 50-60’s, while temps in Manila will rise to the mid 70’s and places around Shanghai will see temps in the 40-50’s. A very cold air mass will be in store for the northern portion of China eastward into the Korea’s and Japan where high temps will range from the 20-‘s to mid30’s.
Weather Forecast for the Islands of (Guam and New Zealand) and Australia for March 23, 2013
Easterly trade winds will bring partly cloudy skies to Guam and a tad bit cooler. Low pressure to the northeast of Australia will bring a few showers into Brisbane. High pressure over the western part of the country will keep the majority of the country dry and warm. A cold front will be moving towards Sydney which will bring showers to the region. The northern part of the region will see high temps in the upper 70’s to lower 80’s, while the southeast around Sydney will see temps in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s.
