Weather Forecast for North America on March 21, 2013
Low pressure moving up the east coast of the US will bring rain and snow to the region; some snow could be heavy around the Great Lakes. Strong area of high pressure sitting over Greenland will continue to impact the United States bringing cold air down and also causing weather systems to start getting stuck over the US later next week. An area of high pressure is moving into the northern plains; this high pressure will bring some very cold air for the first day of spring. Low pressure moving on shore over the Pacific Northwest will bring showers and higher elevation snows to western Canada and also Washington and Oregon, spreading into the Rockies. Temperatures will be cold for a good portion of North America, extending well southward towards the southeast of US.
Weather Forecast for South America on March 21, 2013
A strong area of low pressure will move along the southern tip, creating widespread showers for the majority of the eastern coastline of South America. The northern portion of the country will see tropical afternoon showers dominate the weather pattern. Temperatures for the region will be in the upper 80’s for places in Brazil; however, it will be much cooler towards the southern tip of South America where temps will be in the 40’s.
Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on March 21, 2013
A strong area of low pressure is moving towards England; this storm will bring with it strong winds and rain showers to the region. High pressure to the south of Spain will bring nice weather to southern Spain and eastward into Italy. A few lingering snow showers will be found over western Russia and parts of Norway. High pressure over the Middle East will keep this region dry again and warm. Very cold air will be in place from Russia through Norway and southward into Central Europe with many places around the 40’s or colder. The regions of southern Europe will see temps in the 60’s. The Middle East will be warm with temps soaring into the upper 80’s and lower 90’s.
Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on March 21, 2013
High pressure over northern Africa will bring partly cloudy skies to the region. A few areas of showers will push through central Africa along the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone. Another area of high pressure will push into the southeastern part of Africa; this will lead to more nice weather for the region. Sunny skies will also prevail over Madagascar during the day. The majority of the country will be in the upper 80’s to lower 90’s. The extreme northwest part of the country will see temps in the upper 70’s.
Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on March 21, 2013
High pressure over the region will provide the area with nice weather and a few passing clouds for places like India and Thailand. Look for showers along the monsoonal trough over Singapore during the afternoon. Southeast China will also enjoy a nice day with partly cloudy skies. A huge temperature contrast will be found from India towards the north. Temps in India will be in the upper 80’s while temps to the north will be in the 20’s. The tropical region will enjoy nice temps in the upper 70’s to lower 80’s.
Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia on March 21, 2013
An area of low pressure moving across northeast China will bring a few showers to the Korea’s and also western Japan. Another stronger low pressure area over northern Japan will bring snow to Hokkaido and northeastern Russia. High pressure over eastern China will bring a nice day to the region. This will extend eastward towards Okinawa, Japan. A few afternoon showers will be possible for Manila. Temps will be mild in Manila, to the 60’s in Shanghai, and possibly the upper 40’s in Tokyo. Look for even colder air to settle in over the Korea’s and northeast Russia.
Weather Forecast for the Islands of (Guam and New Zealand) and Australia for March 21, 2013
Guam will see easterly trade wind flow, bringing with it a chance of afternoon showers and moderate easterly winds. An area of low pressure will move across northern Australia bringing showers to the region; these showers will expand eastward towards Brisbane. A strong cold front will be moving through southern Australia creating a few showers and thunderstorms for the area. Temps for the outback of Australia will be in the mid 80’s, while along the southern coast near Sydney look for temps in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s.
