Weather Forecast for North America on March 16, 2013
The majority of the area will enjoy high pressure from Chicago southward. Along the east coast of the United States expect to see partly cloudy skies. as high pressure ridges into the region. Afternoon showers will be possible through portions of Mexico, to include Mexico City. A weak frontal boundary to the north of Hawaii will bring stronger easterly winds and an increase in cloud cover to the region. Partly cloudy skies will prevail through most of Greenland.
Weather Forecast for South America on March 16, 2013
High pressure over the southern part of the continent will bring nice weather to a good portion of the region; look for sunny skies throughout the south. A few afternoon showers will be possible through Brazil. An increase in clouds will be seen over the northwestern part of South America.
Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on March 16, 2013
A frontal boundary will be pushing onshore over Europe, allowing for an increase in precipitation for places like London and Madrid. The showers will also push eastward into Italy later in the day. The region will see cool temps from England eastward across the Scandinavian area, while, temps from Spain to Italy will be mostly in the 50-70’s (10C-20C) range. The Middle East will be dealing with dry conditions and moderate winds, which could bring a few dust storms upon the region. Temps for the region will be in the 70’s (20C).
Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on March 16, 2013
High pressure near the Ivory Coast will dominate the weather for a good portion of Africa; expect to see partly cloudy skies and warm temps through the region. There will be a few showers possible along the Northern countries of Africa associated with a frontal boundary that is moving through Europe. The Cape Verde Islands will also be enjoying warmer weather as southerly winds bring return flow to the region. Looking at Madagascar, expect to see some afternoon clouds and light winds for the region out of the east.
Weather Forecast for select cities throughout Southeast Asia for March 16, 2013
Low pressure to the north of India will bring in the southerly flow to the region; however, don’t expect much in the way of precipitation over the next 24hrs for the region. Easterly flow will persist through the remainder of Southeast Asia to include Singapore and Thailand.
Weather Forecast for select cities in Eastern Asia for March 16, 2013
High pressure over Japan will bring nice weather to the region. Expect to see partly cloudy skies persist from Japan westward back into the Korea’s. An area of low pressure is moving through Northern China and Southern Russia; this will bring a few snow showers to Russia. High pressure over Siberia will usher in another round of cold weather for the region.
Weather Forecast for the Islands of (Guam and New Zealand) and Australia for March 16, 2013
Tropical Cyclone Tim continues to turn east of Australia, slowly moving southward with winds around 50kts. There will be a few showers over the northern part of Australia associated with easterly flow. High pressure over southern Australia will make for a nice day in places like Perth and Sydney, with high temps rising into the upper 60’s to lower 70’s (22-25C) range. Guam and the remainder of the Pacific Islands will enjoy a nice tropical day with a few afternoon showers.
