Weather Forecast for North America on June 20, 2013

Partly cloudy skies expected from Greenland into the east coast of the US, while a few showers associated with a frontal boundary move through eastern Canada. Hot and humid weather will continue for the southern US, while tropical moisture starts to impact southern Mexico associated with the tropical storm. Partly cloudy skies will be seen out west, while a few showers push into Vancouver.  The heat will continue over Alaska.  Greenland and Iceland will be the cool spots, with high temps only in the 30’s and 40’s; however, eastern Canada into the eastern United States temps will soar into the 70’s and 80’s. The heat will be on over the southeast and Gulf Coast along with the southern Plains, where temps will be again in the 90’s and heat index values over 100.  There will be a cool spot over western Canada; otherwise the rest of the west, to include Alaska, will be warm. Alaska will be looking at temps in the 80’s and 90’s for another day of record heat.

Weather Forecast for South America on June 20, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will be found through almost all of South America. The only exception will be southern Argentina, which will have a frontal boundary moving through that will bring showers to the region and even some higher elevation snows. Northern parts of South America will be in the 80’s and even a few 90’s while southern Argentina and Chile will be in the 40’s and a few 30’s.

Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on June 20, 2013

A powerful storm system moving through central Europe will continue to impact the area with showers, thunderstorms and severe weather. Partly cloudy skies will dominate the weather from England to Spain and also into Italy. The Middle East will be sunny and hot again. The majority of Europe from Spain to Russia will be warm with high temps in the 80’s and 90’s; the cooler spots will be England with high temps only in the 70’s.  The Middle East will be plenty warm with temps again in the 100’s.

Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on June 20, 2013

Africa will see partly cloudy skies from north to south, with no major weather impacts forecasted outside of the hot weather. The weather will also be partly cloudy for both The Cape Verde Islands and Madagascar. The majority of Africa will be warm with temps in the 80’s and 90’s. A few 100’s could be possible in the interior sections. The cool spot will be over South Africa along the east coast where temps will be in the 70’s.

Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on June 20, 2013

The monsoonal rains will pick back up from northern India into Sri Lanka and eastward towards Singapore; the rest of Southeast Asia will see afternoon showers and thunderstorms.  The region will be warm with temps in the 100’s for northern India, cooling to the 90’s for Sri Lanka and over to Singapore. The 90’s will also be found over Thailand and Malaysia.

Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on June 20, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will stretch from northeast Russia to Japan and back into eastern China. Hong Kong will also see partly cloudy skies, while afternoon showers and thunderstorms will impact both Guam and Manila. Northeast Russia and northern Japan will see temps in the 60’s and 70’s, while eastern China and the Korea’s, along with Tokyo, will be in the 80’s. Hong Kong will also be in the 80’s while Manila hits the 90’s. Easterly trade winds over Guam will keep the temps in the 80’s.

Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for June 20, 2013

Western Australia, along with northern Australia, will enjoy partly cloudy skies. A frontal boundary moving through southeast Australia will bring showers to places like Sydney and also Auckland.  Northern Australia will be in the 60’s, while central Australia cools to the 50’s. Both Perth and Sydney will be in the 50’s, cooling to the 40’s over parts of New Zealand.
