Weather Forecast for North America on December 5, 2013

Strong winter storm moving through the central United States will bring heavy snowfall, along with heavy rains and gusty winds. Behind it high pressure will build in; this will bring some of the coldest air of the year to the region. Partly cloudy skies will dominate the western US, with a few snow showers over western Alaska. Temps will range from the 20’s over eastern Canada to the 50’s over the eastern US. Expect it to warm to the 70’s for the south, while the Plains will see temps in the 50’s over the south. It will then cool down to the -10 range over the Northern Plains and, along with gusty winds, will bring wind chill values to near -45F.

Weather Forecast for South America on December 5, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will dominate the weather from Peru to Brazil. Partly cloudy skies will also be found from Chile to northern Argentina, while a few showers will be found over southern Argentina. Temps will be in the 80’s for Peru warming to the 80’s and 90’s for Brazil, while the 60’s will dominate the weather over northern Argentina. Colder air will be in place over southern Chile with high temps in the 40’s.

Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on December 5, 2013

Cold air is in store for the region from west to east. Showers will be possible over England giving way to snow showers over Scandinavia and into central Europe, while partly cloudy skies will dominate the weather over southern Europe from Spain to Italy and into the Middle East. Temps will be in the teens over Scandinavia warming to the 20’s and 30’s for England. Temps will warm to the 50’s for southern Spain into southern Italy, while the 70’s will dominate the Middle East.

Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on December 5, 2013

Partly cloudy skies with a few isolated showers are expected over northern Africa; otherwise look for cool weather with temps in the 50’s and 60’s. Look for partly cloudy skies for central Africa with temps in the 60’s, and 40’s over the higher elevations. Southern Africa will see mostly cloudy skies with showers and temps in the lower 70’s.

Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on December 5, 2013

Dry weather will persist over western Asia from India to Sri Lanka, while a few showers will be present over Singapore and Thailand. Temps for this region will range from the 70’s with a few 60’s, as well over northern India.

Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on December 5, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will dominate the weather from Russia to Hong Kong; this includes the cities of Seoul and Tokyo. Manila will also see partly cloudy skies, however Guam will have showers. Temps will range from the 0-10F over northern Russia, to the 40’s and 50’s for the Korea’s and Japan, warming to the 70’s over Hong Kong and Guam, while Manila will be near 80.

Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for December 5, 2013

There will be scattered showers over most of southern Australia and isolated showers over the northwest part of the country. Temps will range from the 90’s over the northwest to the 60’s around Sydney.
