Weather Forecast for North America on August 26, 2013

A storm system approaching Greenland will bring showers to the region. The combination of an easterly wave and a tropical system over the southwest Gulf of Mexico will bring showers and thunderstorms from Mexico City to Houston and eastward into Mobile. Showers along a frontal boundary will also be possible over portions of the southern Plains. A storm system hitting the Gulf of Alaska will provide showers to the region, while another hot and dry day from the west coast to the northern Plains. Strong cold air will be over most of Greenland with high temps in the 30’s at best, while eastern Canada will warm to the 50’s and 60’s. The eastern US will be in the 60’s and 70’s, warming to the 80’s and 90’s for the Gulf Coast and the upper 90’s for the northern Plains. The west will be hot and dry again with temps into the upper 80’s and mid 90’s.

Weather Forecast for South America on August 26, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will prevail from Peru to Brazil and over most of northern Chile and Argentina. A strong storm system will continue to push into southern Chile and Argentina with another day of rain and snow showers for the region. Eastern Brazil will be in the 80’s and 90’s, while Peru will be in the 70’s and 80’s. Northern Chile and Argentina will be in the 50’s, cooling to the 30’s for southern Chile and Argentina along the frontal boundary.

Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on August 26, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will prevail from England to northern Europe into Spain and eastward towards Italy, while a few showers will be possible around Moscow and western Russia. The heat will be over the Middle East again with sunny skies and temps in the 100-115 range. Temps will be in the 70’s and 80’s over Western Europe and England, warming to the 80’s and 90’s for most of Spain eastward into Italy as well.

Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on August 26, 2013

Northern Africa to the Cape Verde Islands will see partly cloudy skies, while a tropical wave moves across Central Africa increasing showers and thunderstorms along the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). High pressure will bring partly cloudy skies to South Africa and eastward into Madagascar. All regions from northern Africa to central Africa and southern Africa will be in the 80’s and 90’s; the cooler spot will be South Africa with a few 70’s as well.

Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on August 26, 2013

The southwest monsoon will be active again, bringing periods of heavy rainfall to the region. The potential for flooding will be elevated again, especially in southern India. Also, look for afternoon showers and thunderstorms from Sri Lanka to Singapore and eastward into Malaysia and Thailand. The region will see temps in the 80’s and 90’s from west to east.

Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on August 26, 2013

Showers will be possible across northeast Russia and also over Japan along a frontal boundary. High pressure over eastern China will bring partly cloudy skies to Shanghai, while afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible for both Hong Kong and Manila, look for afternoon showers for Guam as well. Northeast Russia will be in the 50’s, while Northern Japan hits the 60’s and the 80’s and 90’s will be found over Eastern China into the Korea’s and eastward over Japan especially into Tokyo. Temps will be in the 80’s for Hong Kong and Guam and the 90’s for Manila.

Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for August 26, 2013

Northeast Australia will see showers, while a frontal boundary over southwest Australia will bring showers to the region, as well. Look for partly cloudy skies from Sydney to New Zealand. Northwest Australia will be in the 70’s, cooling to the 60’s for southwest Australia and a few 50’s for southeast Australia and into New Zealand.
