Weather Forecast for North America on August 22, 2013

A frontal boundary moving across Greenland will bring showers to the region; this will extend into astern Canada, as well. A frontal boundary will be moving through the eastern US, bringing showers and thunderstorms from the northeast to the Gulf Coast. Showers will also be possible over most of Alaska. A very cold air mass will slide into northern Greenland with temps falling to below zero, while southern Greenland will be in the lower 30’s warming to the 50’s and 60’s for eastern Canada and the 60’s and 70’s for the northeast. It will further warm to the 80’s and 90’s for the southeast and Gulf Coast, the Central Plains will fall into the 70’s and 80’s, while the west will see temps in the 80’s for places like Portland and Seattle.

Weather Forecast for South America on August 22, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will prevail form Peru to Brazil. Expect to see partly cloudy skies from central Chile to Brazil and northern Argentina. Showers and snow showers will be possible over southern Chile and southern Argentina. Eastern Brazil will be in the 70’s and 80’s, while Peru, northern Chile and northern Argentina will be in the 60’s, cooling to the 30’s over southern Chile and southern Argentina.

Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on August 22, 2013

A frontal boundary to the west of the area will provide increased cloud cover from England to Italy and northward into Germany and northern Europe, along with Spain. The Middle East will be hot and dry again. Northern Europe will be in the 60’s and 70’s, while the rest of Europe will be in the 80’s with a few 90’s into Spain. The Middle East will be hot again with high temps in the 100-110 range.

Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on August 22, 2013

Northern Africa will see partly cloudy skies; this will also expand into the Cape Verde Islands, while showers and thunderstorms will be possible over the Inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ). Southern Africa will also be dry, but still see breezy conditions. The majority of Africa will see temps in the 80’s and 90’s, while South Africa will be in the 60’s.

Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on August 22, 2013

The southwest monsoon will be very active again. Expect to see periods of heavy rainfall along the boundary. This will extend from India to Sri Lanka and eastward into Singapore, while afternoon thunderstorms will be possible from Thailand to Malaysia. The region will see temps in the 80’s and 90’s from India to Singapore and into Thailand and Malaysia.

Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on August 22, 2013

A frontal boundary moving through eastern Russia will extend into China, providing the region with showers and thunderstorms along with another frontal boundary bringing showers over Japan. Typhoon Trami will push west of Taiwan, and begin to start impacting eastern China, along with still impacting Taiwan. Afternoon thunderstorms will be possible over Hong Kong, and another day of flooding rains possible for Manila. Guam will see afternoon thunderstorms. Northeast Russia will see temps in the 60’s, while central China and into the Korea’s and most of Japan will see temps in the 80’s and a few 90’s. Temps for Hong Kong and Manila will be in the 80’s, along with Guam.

Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for August 22, 2013

Showers will be possible over southeastern Australia near Perth, while the rest of Australia will see partly cloudy skies. This will also be true for most of New Zealand. Northwest Australia will see temps in the 70’s, cooling to the 50’s and 60’s for southeast Australia and further cooling to the 40’s and 50’s over southeast Australia, including Auckland New Zealand.
