Weather Forecast for North America on August 20, 2013

Frontal boundary moving across Greenland and Iceland will bring showers to the region. Another frontal boundary moving across the central Plains will bring showers and thunderstorms to the region. The majority of the northeast will be partly cloudy and cool. A strong front moving into Alaska will bring heavy rainfall to the region. Temps will be in the 30’s over Greenland and the 40’s and 50’s over eastern Canada, warming to the 50’s and 60’s or the northeast. The southeast and Gulf Coast will be in the 80’s and 90’s. The west will see temps in the 80’s to 90’s.

Weather Forecast for South America on August 20, 2013

Afternoon showers will hit parts of Brazil especially near the coast. Partly cloudy skies will prevail from Peru to northern Chile and Argentina. Showers and snow showers will hit southern Chile and also southern Argentina. Temps will be in the 80’s over Brazil, cooling to the 70’s for Peru and further cooling to the 40’s and 50’s for northern Argentina and Chile. Southern Argentina and Chile will be in the 30’s.

Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on August 20, 2013

Sunny skies will prevail from Spain to Italy and northward into Germany, while more clouds will be over England to northern Europe. The Middle East will be hot and dry again. Western and northwestern Europe will be in the 60’s, while the 70’s and 80’s will be over England, warming to the 80’s and 90’s for Spain to Italy. Temps will be in the 100-110 range for the Middle East.

Northern Africa will enjoy partly cloudy skies with warm temps, while central Africa will have an increase in tropical moisture again that will bring showers and thunderstorms to the area. Southern Africa to Madagascar will see partly cloudy skies with breezy conditions. The majority of Africa will see temps in the 80’s and 90’s, while

Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on August 20, 2013

The southwest monsoon will again impact the region with periods of heavy rainfall and flooding potential. This will be possible from India to Sri Lanka, while more isolated afternoon thunderstorms will be seen from Singapore to Thailand. Temps will be in the 80’s and 90’s from India to Sri Lanka and eastward into Singapore.

Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on August 20, 2013

A frontal boundary passing through Japan will bring showers and thunderstorms to the region, while partly cloudy skies will be found over eastern China and into the Korea’s as high pressure dominates the weather. Tropical Storm Trami is forecasted to become a Typhoon before going over northern Taiwan with heavy rains, storm surge and strong winds. From Hong Kong to Manila, look for showers and thunderstorms which will add to the flooding concerns over Manila and the rest of the region already. Guam will enjoy partly cloudy skies. Temps will be in the 50’s over northeast Russia and the 60’s for northern Japan, warming to the 80’s and 90’s for eastern China to the Korea’s and eastward into Tokyo. Hong Kong and Manila will be in the upper 80’s along with Guam.

Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for August 20, 2013

A cold front passing through southwest Australia will bring showers to Perth, while partly cloudy skies will be found across the rest of Australia and into New Zealand. Northwest Australia will be in the 70’s, while the 60’s dominate southwestern Australia, and the 50’s will be over most of eastern Australia, to include Sydney.
