Weather Forecast for North America on August 19, 2013

Showers will expand across most of Greenland and eastern Canada along a frontal boundary. This also increases shower activity, along with thunderstorms, that will stretch from the Gulf Coast to the southeast allowing for another day of flooding in this region. Showers and thunderstorms will also be present over portions of the southern Plains into the Ohio River valley. The west coast will be warm and dry again, which will increase the fire hazard, especially in the northern Rockies, from Idaho to Montana and southward over Wyoming. From Greenland to Iceland temps will be in the 40’s, while a good portion of astern Canada will be in the 50’s to 60’s. The northeast US will see temps in the 60’s to lower 70’s as the southeast and Gulf Coast will be in the low to mid 80’s. The western Rockies will see temps in the 80’s to 90’s.

Weather Forecast for South America on August 19, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will prevail from Peru to Brazil and southward into northern Argentina and Chile, while another strong cold front pushes through southern Chile and Argentina bringing another round of snow showers and rain showers to the region. Temps will be in the 70’s to 80’s from Peru to Brazil, while temps will fall to the 60’s over most of northern Chile and Argentina. It will further cool to the 30’s and a few 40’s for southern Chile and Argentina.

Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on August 19, 2013

Partly cloudy skies will expand from London to the northern Scandinavia region, while sunny skies stretch from Spain to Italy; the sunny skies and hot weather will also be over the Middle East. Western Europe from London to the Scandinavia region will be in the 60’s and 70’s, while from Spain to Italy and northward into Germany temps will rise into the 80’s and a few 90’s. The Middle East will be hot again with temps in the 100-110 range.

Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on August 19, 2013

Northern Africa will be partly cloudy, while central Africa will see another day of increased tropical moisture along the ITCZ; this will lead to periods of heavy rainfall in some locations. South Africa along with Madagascar will remain dry and breezy. The majority of Africa from northern to central Africa will see temps in the 80’s and 90’s, while South Africa will be in the 60’s and 70’s. Madagascar will hit the mid 80’s.

Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on August 19, 2013

The southwest monsoon will bring another day of heavy rainfall from India to Sri Lanka, while afternoon thunderstorms will be found from Singapore to Malaysia and northward into Thailand and Vietnam. Temps will be in the 80’s and 90’s from New Delhi to Sri Lanka and eastward into Singapore and Malaysia.

Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on August 19, 2013

Showers and a few thunderstorms will extend from northeast Russia into the Korea’s and eastward into Japan, while partly cloudy skies will be found over Eastern China. From Hong Kong to Manila, along with Guam, afternoon thunderstorms will be common. Temps will be cooler over northeast Russia with high temps in the 50’s and 60’s, warming to the 80’s and 90’s from Shanghai to Seoul and over into Tokyo. Temps will be in the upper 80’s for both Guam and Hong Kong, while the lower 90’s will be across Manila.

Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for August 19, 2013

Two frontal boundaries will impact southern Australia and New Zealand with showers, from Perth to Sydney and eastward into Auckland. Northern Australia will see temps in the 70’s and 80’s, cooling down to the 60’s and 70’s for northwest Australia. Expect to see 60’s near Perth and a few 50’s around Sydney.
