International Weather Outlook: August 16, 2013

Weather Forecast for North America on August 16, 2013:
Low pressure near Iceland will bring showers to Greenland, while partly cloudy skies will prevail from Eastern Canada into the Eastern US, showers and thunderstorms will be possible over the Gulf Coast and Southeast, there will be a chance for strong thunderstorms over the Southern Plains, while high pressure keeps most of the Northern Plains dry along with the Western Lakes. Showers will also be possible over Mexico ahead of the tropical wave that is just to the northeast of the region. Temps will be in the 20’s and 30’s for Greenland warming to only the 50’s for Eastern Canada and the lower 60’s for the Northeast US, while the 70’s and 80’s will be across the Southeast and Gulf Coast, the warmer weather will be over the Rockies and the West Coast where places will see temps in the 80’s and 90’s.
Weather Forecast for South America on August 16, 2013
Partly cloudy skies will dominate the weather from Peru to Brazil and southward into Northern Chile and also Northern Argentina, while rain and snow will be possible over Southern Chile and Southern Argentina. Northeast Brazil will be in the 80’s while Peru will have temps in the 70’s, rapidly cooling to the 50’s for Northern Argentina and the 20’s and 30’s over Southern Argentina and also Southern Chile.
Weather Forecast for Europe and the Middle East on August 16, 2013
Partly cloudy skies will dominate most of the region from England to Northern Europe, while sunny skies will be found from Spain to Italy. The Middle East will have another hot and dry day in store. Western Europe from Scandinavia to England will see temps in the 70’s, warming to the 80’s for Spain to Italy, while the Middle East will be in the 90’s and 100’s.
Weather Forecast for Africa and the Cape Verde and Madagascar Islands on August 16, 2013
Partly cloudy over Northern Africa, while the Inter-tropical convergence zone gets active across Africa, this will start to open up the floodgates for tropical activity to stretch across the Atlantic. Cape Verde will have partly cloudy skies with a few showers and gustier winds from Tropical Storm Erin. Southern Africa will also see partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions. The majority of Africa will be in the 80’s and 90’s, the excepting will be South Africa were temps will be in the 60’s and a few 50’s.
Weather Forecast for Southeast Asia on August 16, 2013
The southwest monsoon will be very active again at this time, producing widespread showers and thunderstorms from Sri Lanka to India, there will also be afternoon thunderstorms from Singapore to Malaysia. The entire region will see temps in the 80’s and 90’s.
Weather Forecast for Eastern Asia and the island of (Guam) on August 16, 2013
A frontal boundary will bring a few showers from Northern Russia into parts of Japan, while partly cloudy skies will dominate the weather from the Korea’s to Eastern China. Afternoon thunderstorms will be possible over Hong Kong and also Manila, along with Guam. Northern Russia will be in the 70’s, while Eastern China to the Koreas and into Japan will be in the 80’s and 90’s. Temps for Hong Kong will be in the upper 80’s along with Manila and also Guam.
Weather Forecast for the Island of (New Zealand) and Australia for August 16, 2013
Two separate frontal boundaries will impact a good portion of Australia from Perth to Sydney with isolated showers and stronger winds. New Zealand will also see showers along the Southern portion of the country. Northern Australia will be in the 60’s and 70’s while Southwest Australia will be in the 50’s and 60’s along with Southeast Australia, places in New Zealand could hit the 40’s as well.
