Jan 06, 13 Daily Round-Up – January 5th, 2013

Greetings! Here’s a recap of all the news that went on in the wonderful world of music on January 5, 2013.

Remember Nelly? I haven’t heard much about him in a while, but he must be doing fine, as he released a new track to his Soundcloud today. Check it out here.

In the biggest non-story of the day, Rick Ross revealed that he would reveal his album title in a couple of days, on January 7th. You can read his tweet and find more details at 2dopeboyz.

50 Cent has taken part in an interview in which he spells out his plans for the upcoming future, including a collaboration with Eminem, and a new album. Watch his talk with DJ Whoo Kid on YouTube.

In news that probably doesn’t need any explaniation, Someone stole Wayne Coyne’s giant laser hands. But rest assured, they have been found and returned, and four VIP tickets to the Southband Festival in Australia awarded to the lucky soul who returned them. The Flaming Lips will continue to play and shoot lasers out of giant hands for fans around the world without impediment.

Check out this new track from rap artist Chinx Drugs. You may not know much about him but you’ll probably recognize his collaborators – the track features French Montana, Diddy, and Rick Ross. You can listen to the track over at 2dopeboyz.

I’ve been trying to stay out this whole debacle, but the conflict between Azealia Banks and Angel Haze has reached a point of critical mass. Rolling Stone has coverage of the last head-scratching developments from the story.

Pop star Justin Beiber allegedly got caught with marijuana. This news comes after the disturbing details concerning a car accident that killed a paparazzi. Both stories and more details are found after the link to Rolling Stone.

You can download or stream the new EP from trap/dub/bass/electro outfit Butch Clancy via their Soundcloud. And you totally should. It’s a really cool piece of music to help subside those January blues.

That’s all the news for today folks! Have a safe weekend and I’ll see you soon!
