Hey everybody! Here’s what happened in the wonderful world of music on January 1st, 2013 (and New Year’s Eve as well).

There were many, many amazing New Year’s celebrations going on throughout the world that night!

Jay-Z and Coldplay put on a joint show in the new Barclays Center in New York. Videos from the performance can be found here.

Across town, Nas was performing in the Radio City Music Hall.

Further south, rappers Drake, T.I., Busta Rhymes, and their cohorts were putting on a show at the Fountainbleu in Miami.

And all the while, electronic act Bassnectar was absolutely tearing Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to pieces.

Here’s a new video from Big Boi, for his track “In The A”, featuring Ludacris and T.I.

An appropriately titled new video from Beach House for the track “New Year”, complete with shots of cute animals.

Dancing Astronaut put out their comprehensive lists of the best electronic music of the year, in every classification and subgenre you can think of!

Adding to the swath of New Years themed news, band The Breeders reunited, and celebrated the first of the year by releasing footage of them playing their song “New Year”

Rapper Raekwon, formerly of Wu-Tang Clan fame, has promised a new album, “F.I.L.A.” to be released in the new year. His EP Lost Jewelry drops January 8th. Via Twitter: “My next Lp comin out in the 2nd quarter and is titled F.I.L.A acronym for “FLY.INTERNATIONAL. LUXURIOUS ART” -@Raekwon

Timbaland released a new track called the Party Anthem featuring T-Pain, Missy Elliot, and of course, Lil Wayne

Rapper Kurupt put out a new video for his single “Power”

OhSoFresh! Music has put up a stream of an underground hip-hop album by rappers Awon, Kameleon Beats, and Thomas Prime, “Love Supersedes II”
