Oct 08, 13 Daily Round-Up For October 8, 2013

Hello awesome people! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s best assortment of all the latest and greatest music news of the day. I hope you’re completely caught up with all your listening because it is new music Tuesday! And there is just so much stuff out there. Let’s dive right in, shall we?

First things first, the Pixies have announced a new tour for 2014, with support from acclaimed bands like FIDLAR, Best Coast, and Cults. They also put out a video for their tune Andro Queen. You can check it all out for yourself at Consequence of Sound.

And now onto to the music! Besides the traditional swaths of new music being released today from artists like Pusha T, Sleigh Bells, Cage the Elephant, and Amos Lee, there are a few very cool album streams up for records that haven’t been released yet. Stereogum has the streams for the new ambient album Virgins by Tim Hecker, as well as the upcoming Cults record Static. Uncanney Valley, the new one from the Dismemberment Plan, is up at Consequence of Sound.

There are also a couple of new videos out today! Pusha T just simply will not stop. His downpour of music continued today with the music video for Sweet Serenade, his tune with Chris Brown. You can find that at Stereogum. AlunaGeorge also have a new video for their song Best Be Believing. Fun fact: apparently the video was inspired by One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. You can check it out at Consequence of Sound.

Because I know you haven’t had enough, how about some new and unreleased tracks? First, there’s a really cool collaboration between Four Tet and Burial that was just released this week. And on top of that, there’s a new one from the Gorillaz! You can listen to both Unreleased and Whirlwind at We All Want Someone To Shout For.

And just in case somehow you still have room for more tunes in your life, we’ve got two great playlists for you! The first is a Good Morning Mix from The Dancing Astronaut. It comes in the form of Graceland, a mixtape by an artist named Zimmer. And finally, the Music Ninja has blessed us with yet another installment of The Chill Dojo, a collection of tracks that will absolutely chill you out. Check both of these playlists out at their respective links, and please, have fun listening!

And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here.
