Hello everybody and Happy Halloween! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one stop shop for all of the latest, greatest, and spookiest music news of the day. Let’s get to business.
As the world patiently awaits the release of Eminem’s new record The Marshall Mathers LP 2, the Detroit rapper has bestowed a gift upon his fans in the form of a leaked track from the album. You can listen to Love Game, featuring Kendrick Lamar, back at 2dopeboyz.
Today a 2pm ET, Neko Case will be performing a live Tiny Desk Concert from the offices of NPR. If you catch this post in time, and are interested in Neko Case, you can actually watch the performance as it occurs! For now, you can head back to NPR Music for more details.
The guys over at We All Want Someone To Shout For were fortunate enough to attend the 2013 Mountain Oasis Festival, and they have returned with extensive write-ups, photos, and stories from their trip. You can read their reports on Bassnectar, Purity Ring, XXYYXX, Neutral Milk Hotel, and more by following the respective links back to their site.
Speaking of XXYYXX, the 17-year-old producer has just released a new track. If you’re interested, you can listen to Angel in its entirety back at Oh So Fresh Music
James Blake beat out a positively stacked list of competitors to take the top prize of Mercury Album of the Year at this year’s 2013 Mercury Awards. He beat out awesome offerings from Arctic Monkeys, Disclosure, Jon Hopkins, Foals, Savages, Villagers, and other outstanding acts from the UK. To get a full read on the story, and hear about the other illustrious winners on the evening, you can head back to Stereogum.
It seems like Kanye West is giving interviews to just about every publication and radio station that asks him. This week he spoke to Los Angeles’s 97.1 AMP Radio. Topics include his dreams of being a soccer dad, the Confederate Flag, and Miley Cyrus twerking. If you’re interested, you can hear the whole conversation back at 2dopeboyz.
I will leave you with a new track from your favorite indie band Grizzly Bear! It’s been a while since we’ve heard a new song from this band, but let’s hope that this tune is worth the wait. You can listen to Listen And Wait back at We All Want Someone To Shout For.
