Daily Round-Up For October 11, 2013

Oct 11, 13 Daily Round-Up For October 11, 2013

Hello gorgeous readers! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only source for all of the latest, greatest, and most awesome music news of the day. Let’s get right down to business, shall we?

Tyler, The Creator is up to more shenanigans! He put out the crazed and twisted music video for his track Tamale this week, and there’s really not much that I can say about it. You just have to see it for yourself! Take a look over at We All Want Someone To Shout For.

A new music production program is about to hit the market! Splice is a program that allows for collaboration and easy backup between multiple producers at the same time. So if you’re a budding musician or producer that’s frustrated with the limitations of programs like Ableton, you might want to keep an eye out for the release of Splice. You can check out the full story and a video back at The Dancing Astronaut – they can probably describe it a lot better than I can.

Justin Vernon of Bon Iver made some indie dreams come true this week as he joined popular alternative band The National on stage in Austin, Texas for a couple of songs. He joined them on guitar and vocals for awesome and soulful renditions of Terrible Love and Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks, both standouts from the National’s album High Violet. You can check out the full video of both of those songs by heading back to Stereogum.

And of course, it’s not a normal day without a barrage of Kanye West news! First off, his polarizing record of a few years ago, 808s and Heartbreak, is going to see a reissue on vinyl. That story is back at The Line of Best Fit. Second off, his track Gone, from his eight-year-old record Late Registration, just entered the Billboard Top 20, probably thanks to a viral video that uses it. The full report is back at Consequence of Sound. And finally, Kanye paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss the feud that erupted between himself and Kimmel. The interview ran so long that the Arctic Monkeys were forced to cancel and reschedule their appearance that night. But it was a pretty interesting conversation! The Line of Best Fit has the scoop on the Arctic Monkeys performance, and Pitchfork has the Kanye interview in full at their site.

And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here.
