Daily Round-Up For November 8, 2013
Hello awesome readers! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one stop shop for all of the latest, greatest, and most awesome music news of the day. Let’s get to it!
We all have an opinion on Arcade Fire’s new record Reflektor, and we’ve probably all read quite a few opinions on it as well. But have you heard an opinion from another established musician? Annie Clark, from the alternative rock band St Vincent, took to a website called The Talkhouse to offer a few well-thought-out ideas on the record. Ms. Clark’s got a good head on her shoulders! Check out her thoughts back at The Line of Best Fit.
Eminem’s new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is doing its best to split listeners and fans down the middle. No one can make up how they feel about the record, but the fine folks over at NPR Music threw their hats in the ring with some interesting thoughts of their own. You can read their article back at NPR.
Indie starlets Yuck have a new music video out this week, this time for their new single Lose My Breath. If you can make it past the epilepsy warning, you’re in store for a simple but appropriate accompaniment to a great track off Glow & Behold. Check it out for yourself back at Stereogum.
The still-18-year-old Chief Keef has been sentenced to 90 days in a Chicago-area rehabilitation center. This news comes on the heels of Keef’s other recent run-ins with the law, including a violated parole that earned him 60 hours of community service and 20 days in jail. Let’s hope that Keef gets his act together and keeps making that crazy music of his that we all love so dearly. The full story is back at The Line of Best Fit.
Lady Gaga has announced that she will be the first musician ever to perform in space. Because why not, right? In two years time, Gaga will be launching from a technical festival in New Mexico, to perform one song in Earth’s orbit. It’s not all fun and games though, as she is reportedly going through a month’s worth of training to ensure that her vocal chords aren’t harmed. Either way, you have to hand it to the lady. She continually is raising the bar. Check out the full story for yourself back at The Line of Best Fit.
