Daily Round-Up For March 29, 2013
Hello you beautiful readers you! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only greatest collection of all the best and most important news to break through to the mainstream news cycle of the wonderful world of music. We are nearing the end of the week, but the news is still pouring in constantly. So without further blabbering left to do, let us get right down to business.
To start things off, the alternative independent outfit Daughter has released a brand new track. They are calling the new song “Human.” If you are interested, you can listen by following the link back our friends at The Music Ninja.
Gucci Mane had a busy spring break. After an extensive set of appearances in the recent independent film Spring Breakers, as well as what had to have been an extremely fun spring vacation, it is looking like our favorite gangster rapper is back to the grind. Today, he debuted a brand new song featuring a guest rapping spot from the Stoner Prince Wiz Khalifa. The new song is being called “Nothin’ On Ya.” And if you care, you can follow the link back to the rap heads at 2dopeboyz.
In some pretty freaking awesome news, Robert Moog, the father of the synthesizer (and most of modern electronic music) has been inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame for his achievements and advances in the field of music production and engineering. This honor is a testament to the great work that Moog did during his time and also marks a legitimization of the progression of music through the electronic era. If you consider yourself a fan of music or the history of music, you should do yourself a favor and check out the full story. You can read into all of the details by following the link back to The Line of Best Fit.
In our “news that isn’t exactly news but is still kind of interesting” segment, it has been announced that music streaming service Spotify has done a little bit of a reinvention of its logo. The font has been changed from a more child-like, lively bubble letter style into a classier, tighter, and more serious font. This appearance change comes on the heels of announcements that Spotify plans to expand the services that it currently offers and somehow manage to reach a wider audience than the millions that they already service. Looks like Spotify is making moves to become an even more powerful force in the ever-evolving music world! You can check out the full story by following the link back to tech blog The Verge.
