Jul 16, 13 Daily Round-Up For July 16, 2013

Hello, lovely readers! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, your one and only destination for all the music news of the day. You ready? Here we go!

Let’s start off with a girl named Sky Ferreira. If you’ve read the Round-Up for any amount of time, you’ll know that I happen to be very much in love with this pop songstress. So, it brings me great sadness to inform you that Ferreira’s debut full-length album has been delayed until 2014. More details can be found at the original story at The Line of Best Fit.

The Flaming Lips have continued to back up their title as the most ubiquitous and hard-working figures in music. Today they released a music video for their new single Turning Violet. You can check it out back at Stereogum!

The up-and-coming electronic musicians from California, Classixxx, also put out a music video today. This one is for the track All You’re Waiting For, which features a spot from Nancy Wang on the vocals. You can watch it at Stereogum.

In yet another day of topping the headlines, rapper Jay-Z has announced a set of solo tour dates — his first in a while — in support of his latest record Magna Carta Holy Grail. You can check out the full list and see if Jay-Z is coming to a town near you back at Consequence of Sound.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes have made their upcoming self-titled third record available to stream ahead of its release next week. The link to the NPR stream can be found over at Consequence of Sound.

Robin Thicke’s new record is making its way down the pipeline! Soon it will be upon us, but in the meantime he has put out a new track to tide us over. You can listen to Go Stupid 4 U by following the link back to 2dopeboyz.

That super awesome band Yo La Tengo released a new video for their latest single Ohm. And, needless to say, this video is super cool, and just the right amount of trippy. Check it out with a bonus review over at The Needle Drop!

British group the Arctic Monkeys are gearing up for the release of their new record AM. Today they put out a little bit more promotion by releasing the album artwork for the new LP. If you’d like to take a peek, just hit the link and head back to Consequence of Sound.

And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here.
