Daily Round-Up For July 15, 2013
Hello my friends! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s only place to find all of the most important music news of the day. Let’s dive in!
Thom Yorke has been making plenty of noise this weekend. First off, Thom Yorke sat down for an awesome interview in Interview Magazine with James Bond himself, Daniel Craig. And later on Yorke and Nigel Godrich made a point to remove a lot of their music from online streaming service Spotify. Then they took to Twitter to voice their opinions on Spotify. You can find information on both stories at Pitchfork Media.
Justin Timberlake hasn’t had bad press any time recently. But the pop star got struck with a slightly strange series of complaints from an anti-rape organization called Take Back The Night. You may have noticed that they share a name with JT’s hot new single. If you want to read what all the hubbub was about, the story can be found at Pitchfork Media.
Justin Timberlake also revealed the cover art for the upcoming The 20/20 Experience Part 2, as well as the art for the double LP release for both records. You can see them both back at The Line of Best Fit.
Musician Morrissey has cancelled a lot of performances over the past year, and you can’t blame him; the man has been hit with setback after setback. Today he gave an update on his situation and what’s left of his tour. He also issued a heartfelt apology. You can read that and more back at Pitchfork.
In case you’re in the mood for a little electro-banger on your Monday, party master Steve Aoki has let loose with a new song. Boneless is a collaborative effort between Aoki, Chris Lake, and Tujamo. And it can be found back at The Dancing Astronaut!
The Dancing Astronaut’s Sunday Morning Medicine playlist is one of my favorite series of the music blogosphere. Every week, DA puts together a little collection of soothing, chill tracks to help nurse you back to health after a busy weekend of partying. This week is no different in terms of quality! So rush on over to The Dancing Astronaut and check it out!
And finally, leave it to Azealia Banks to get into another feud over Twitter. This time her opponent looks to be Lily Allen, who last I checked was one of the sweetest people in music. We’ll have to wait and see how this one plays out. Details are at The Line of Best Fit.
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! You can check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love? Or do you have an opinion on any of the music featured in today’s Round-Up? I’m dying to hear from you! As always, you can contact me through my email, or through Twitter @RobinCopple1. If you would like, I can include your message in a future edition of the Round-Up!
