Daily Round-Up For July 13, 2013

Jul 13, 13 Daily Round-Up For July 13, 2013

Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only collection of all of the latest and greatest music news of the day. It’s a busy day today, so let’s get right to business!

As far as rap artists go, Earl Sweatshirt has been well documented as being one of the more mysterious figures in the genre. As a result, details about Earl’s upcoming new record Doris have been scarce – until now. Today, a confirmed tracklist, album cover, and release date have been made public. The record is due August 20th. You can check out the full story at Stereogum.

Another popular group to make big announcements today are the Arcade Fire, who today announced that they would release a new record, with what sounds like a fresh new sound, on October 29th of this year. Among the collaborators for the new record are DFA Records founder James Murphy, who only had glowing words for the album. Full story is at Consequence of Sound.

John Legend also let loose with details about his new record Love In The Future. A hefty tracklist and a tasteful album cover were revealed to the world. Though the release date has been pushed back a couple times, it seems they have settled on a date of September 3rd. The album’s lead single is called Who Do We Think We Are, and it features rapper Rick Ross. Full details can be found at 2dopeboyz.

With all the album release dates being revealed today, pop princess Beyonce has unfortunately had to take a few steps backward. Producer Diplo, who planned to contribute some songs to the LP, revealed that he believed Beyonce has scrapped the entire project and is starting from scratch. Whether this bodes well for the release or not, we’ll have to wait and see. You can read the whole story at The Line of Best Fit.

Poor Kanye West. Today the superstar rapper was hounded by paparazzi, and was caught on video asking them to leave him alone. As it turns out, they ignored his request. If you’d like to see video of this, you can find it at 2dopeboyz.

And in some of my most exciting news of the day, Justin Timberlake released the lead single from his upcoming record The 20/20 Experience Part 2. The song Take Back The Night, which had previously been teased at in promotions, can now be heard in full at Stereogum.
