Hey hey! Welcome to the Round-Up, your daily fix of all the best and most important news to come from the wonderful world of music. Let’s get started.

Jim James of My Morning Jacket performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, with a little help from Fallon resident band The Roots. Check out the video of his performance of “A New Life” by following the link back to Consequence of Sound.

Alternative rock band Phoenix have announced a handful of new tour dates. Included in the list are some stops through Canada, and a bunch of spots at music festivals in the future. Check out the list at Consequence of Sound to see if the band is making their way to a city near you!

Powerhouse music streaming service Spotify have announced that they will be paying a whopping $500 million to music rights holders in 2013. The only thing more amazing than that number is that the amount of profits Spotify is set to make this year will most likely be higher than the licensing costs. So Dave Grohl of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters will be hosting Chelsea Lately for the entire week, and today he had rapper Nas on the show to interview him. You can watch the video of the interview by following the link back to Consequence of Sound.

The 2013 Sweetlife Festival has announced its lineup. Artists including the likes of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kendrick Lamar, and, as mentioned, Phoenix, will make their way to Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
