Hello beautiful people! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s one and only collection of all the latest, greatest, and most awesome music news of the day. Let’s dive in to today’s headlines.

In a terrible turn of events, Tim Labesis, the lead singer of Christian metal band As I Lay Dying, has pleaded guilty to a murder for hire plot. Labesis has admitted that he attempted to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife. He faces up to nine years in jail and a $10,000 fine. In some lighter-hearted, interesting news, a study was done recently to determine the most popular and universally loved musical acts in every US state. And the results are equal parts interesting and intriguing. Check out for yourself what your state’s favorite artist is back at Consequence at Sound.

Coldplay have released a new song and music video, entitled Midnight. The reception around the music community seems to be pretty positive, and many are pointing towards a significant influence from indie rock stars Bon Iver, especially in the artistic styling of the music video. Indie rock band Cloud Nothings have released a new tune, entitled Psychic Trauma. The new Cloud Nothings LP, Here And Nowhere Else, will be released on April 1st. You can listen to the track in full back at Stereogum.

Indie singer-songwriters Tegan and Sara have announced a new summer tour for 2014, hitting spots all across America including festivals like Hangout, Bonnaroo, and Sasquatch. Contemporaries like Paramore, Katy Perry, and The Courtneys will also join them at various shows. This Tuesday was New Music Tuesday, and many high-profile releases hit the shelves, including new records from Schoolboy Q, Beck, Dierks Bentley, The Fray, The Notwist, St. Vincent, Wild Beasts, and so many more. But if that’s not enough for you, new streams have also premiered for records from The Men, Real Estate, Pharrell, Kid Cudi, and Rick Ross.
