Daily Round-Up For August 27, 2013
Hello music fans! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbitâs collection of all the music news of the day. Letâs get to business.
Darkside, the collaborative electronic effort between producers Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington, have been hard at work since they released their Daft Punk remix album Random Access Memories. After premiering the new record in New York last week, Jaar has made the first 11 minutes of the album available to stream via his website. You can check it out back at The Line of Best Fit.
I have made clear my love for the music blog The Music Ninja, and particularly for its on-point music playlists. The Chill Dojo is one of my favorites, and it never fails to relax me, soothe me, andâŠwell, chill me out. And today the playlist is celebrating a milestone with its triumphant 50th edition! So be sure to check out The Chill Dojo back at the Music Ninja.
Lil Wayne has almost died on a couple of occasions over the past year. He has passed out, had epileptic seizures, and who knows what else. But that crazy workaholic, after being snubbed for nominations from a couple of award shows, has issued a statement in which he promises to his fans that he will work harder âif it kills me.â Letâs hope that it doesnât. You can read his full statement at The Line of Best Fit.
It seems by this point we should just understand that Tyler, The Creator is a bit of a crazy dude. So when the rapper, who just released an album a few months ago, threw up a brand new track on his Twitter, accompanied by an explanation in all-caps, should we really have been surprised? Either way, it seems like people are enjoying this new song, entitled Garbage. And you can check it out for yourself back at Stereogum.
Though Trent Reznor has been doing his best to brush up negative press for himself and Nine Inch Nails, everyone is still in agreement that this is a great band that we are happy to see back at work. So there is cause to rejoice today because Nine Inch Nails have let loose with a new song, presumably off their upcoming new record. Be sure to check it out, and grab a seat on the Trent Reznor roller coaster — who knows where itâs going next! You can listen at Stereogum.
