Daily Round-Up For April 3, 2013
Hello my beautiful friends and readers! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s own collection of all of the latest, greatest, and most interesting news to bubble to the surface of the wonderful and exciting world of popular and independent music. The week has reached its midpoint, and I am hoping for your sake that you can push through to the lovely weekend that awaits you. There’s plenty of genre-crossing, eye-popping, sensational music news in the stream today, so let us get right down to business!
Let’s start off with some news regarding the Billboard charts. Lil Wayne’s album that he apparently doesn’t even like, I Am Not A Human Being II, debuted at the #2 position. Meanwhile, still stuck in the #1 position, Justin Timberlake’s sensational new record The 20/20 Experience pushed through to achieve the venerable status of platinum. So, many congratulations to both artists and we wish them all of the success in the future. If you would like to check out the full story, and see a nice shot of Lil Wayne’s trippy new album cover, you can follow the link to 2dopeboyz.
Kid Cudi continues to confuse me. Today he released word that he is splitting ties with his extremely nice relationship with Kanye West’s label, G.O.O.D. Music. But he also released a new song, entitled “Girls,” from his new record. Perhaps this is all a part of the master plan for Scott Mescudi. We will have to wait and see! In the meantime, check out the new song and read all about the rapper’s label trouble by following the link back to Consequence of Sound.
A new remix of a Kendrick Lamar song surfaced today. The remix, done by Urban Noize, features a spot from Young Jeezy. You can listen to “Westside, Right On Time (Urban Noize Remix)” by following the link back to Oh So Fresh Music.
On top of that, we also have run across a new track by Angel Olsen and Marissa Nadler, entitled “Frisco Depot.” You can listen to the sweet sounds of those two voices intertwined by following the link back to Gorilla vs Bear.
Rapper Meek Mill also put out a new track, this one coming in the form of a relaxed freestyle that he is calling “G5 Freestyle.” You can check this one out by following the link back to 2dopeboyz.
And last, but not least, The Daily Round-Up’s Track of the Day goes to Dillon Francis and his fresh new remix of Passion Pit’s “Carried Away.” You can check it out by following the link back to the Dancing Astronaut.
And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! And check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love? As always, you can contact me through my email, or through Twitter @robincopple1. If you like I can include your message in a future edition of the Round-Up!
Stay safe you guys! I love you all.
