Apr 10, 13 Daily Round-Up For April 10, 2013

Hello, you lovely readers you! Welcome to the Daily Round-Up, redOrbit’s very own collection of all of the greatest news to hit the cycle of the wonderful world of music. There are quite a few random and obscure stories that have hit the news today, so let’s dive right in and see what’s up!

Did they let Chief Keef out of prison? I can never keep track. Whether he is behind bars or a free man again, he somehow found a way to put out a fresh new video into the world today. If you would like to check out the video and feed the Chief Keef sensation just a little bit more, you can follow the link back to 2dopeboyz.

After a little health scare some months back, it seems that Cat Power is back and operating at 100% capacity. On the latest episode of Later…with Jools Holland, she premiered a new track! The new song, which she is calling “Bully,” is presumably off her upcoming, as of yet unannounced new release. You can check out the video of the performance by following the link back to Consequence of Sound.

The electronic extravaganza known as the Electric Zoo Festival 2013 announced its lineup today! Apparently they brought out the big guns for this year’s edition, with headliners including Avicii, Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, David Guetta, and Hardwell. Other popular performers that will be sure to bring the house down include Knife Party, Benny Benassi, Flux Pavilion, Excision, Cazzette, Bassnectar, Laidback Luke, Rusko, Steve Aoki, Krewella, Zedd, and Diplo. This is truly a basshead’s dream festival. If you would like to discover more about this lovely slice of electronic heaven, or take a peek at the full lineup, you can do so by following the link back to the electronic music overlords over at The Dancing Astronaut.

Real quick, I want to fill you guys in on our Mix of the Day, in the form of a full set of music that up and coming star producer Ryan Hemsworth put together. You can check out “Diplo and Friends” by following the link back to Gorilla vs. Bear.

And yes, Tuesday was indeed yesterday, but I realized that I forgot to update you fine folks with all of the brilliant album releases that have graced the industry for this week. Among the weekly haul are new LPs from James Blake, Villagers, The Knife, Paramore, White Fence, Brad Paisely, Jake Bugg, Dawes, and Kurt Vile. If you want to check out a full list of all of the recent releases stretching back for a few weeks, you can follow the link back to the full release list over at Metacritic Music.

And that is all the news we have for today folks! Hope you have a great day! And check out my other articles here. Have questions, comments, suggestions, or love?
