CSI: Climate Study Investigation For Austin, Texas

Dec 04, 12 CSI: Climate Study Investigation For Austin, Texas

It has been brought to my attention that the Global Changers, or Warmers, whichever you would like to classify them as, are on a mission again and that is to preach that 2012 was the warmest ever. It’s like global warming all over again. Well I am here to rest you assured it’s not that bad. In this new series we will identify cities and compare them to another year such as our choice being 2000. The reason we chose that is something in the atmosphere is occurring again just like what is occurring around the 2012 era, for us to tell you would be to easy that needs to be left for you to research that part, however I will tell you this both years were hot. So lets begin this investigation and see what we can find.

Austin Texas 2000: We are looking at the months of January through June in our graph below.

As you look at the graph above the red bars indicate percentages above normal temps for that time of the year, while blue indicates the time below average and green means it was average during that time period.

So let’s look at January 2000 to start with we notice that the month had 62% of it above average meaning the temps were hotter than average that much of the month. The blue shows us 32% of the month was colder than average and we also notice a 6% for average.

Now moving into February we see that our above average spiked up to 79%, while our below average fell to around 21% and also we had no average days, looks like a case of warming on the month.

March 2000 brings us another interesting finding and that is are temps are now 81% above average for the month while only 13% of the month was below average and 6% was at average. So this shows we had another warm month on hand.

April 2000 our investigation shows something really interesting occurring all the sudden we only seen 67% of the month above average while 30% was below average and 3% was average so why would this be such a huge change you might want to ask this climate factor “La-Nina” for an answer to that.

May 2000 our investigation moves on and we now see a rise back to 87% of the month being above normal while only 10% was below normal along with 3% of the month being average so again why such a huge switch from April again the best answer could lay into an atmospheric phenomena known as “La-Nina”.

To finish out our 2000 investigation we pulled up June and found this 70% of the month was above average while 20% was below and 10% was average, so again another month and a tad bit cooler weather.

So as you look at 2000 and hear the word the planet was hot now you can see for yourself that the entire period in Austin was not hotter than the Climate Average.

On to the second part of our investigation leads us to the next warm year of 2012 and how everyone preaches that its global climate change again. Hmm… Let’s take a look and see what we can find for the same Austin Texas in 2012.

Remember as we start this investigation we have been told my many that this is the warmest year on record but just remember what you saw in the 2000 year for Austin as we look at these numbers below.

Austin Texas 2012 the warmest year on record begins per the Climate Center. Let’s just take a look if you remember January 2000 from above had 68% of the month warmer while here in 2012 we only managed 68%, guess January don’t count in their estimations. Now, let’s look at February we saw that in 2000 the percentage for warmer was 52%, while this year it was 79% oh no there right its warm, how about March. March 2000 we saw 81% and again in March 2012 we saw 81% so it looks like March 2012 was not any warmer than March of 2000. Now, let’s examine April of 2000 we had 87% but wait the warmest year on record of 2012 only had 67% but why they told me it was the warmest but yet its about 20% percent colder than 2000 that can’t be right the “Weather Station must have lied”. Moving on to May we see that in 2000 the temps were 71% above average while in 2012 they were 87% above average oh good its back on track to be the warmest again, I was beginning to be afraid that 2012 was not the hottest. Now let’s look at June of 2000 we had 83% of the month above average for temps while in 2012 wait a second we only had 70% but that’s colder than 2000 why? I thought 2012 was on record to be the warmest of all times.

So now that we have looked at these two years that have similar information such as the month’s that were used an also the amount of solar energy coming into the earth during this time and pretty much the same time frame that both were in the ENSO cycle, we can see our findings that show 2000 and 2012 were both hot, however the statement that 2012 was the hottest ever for Austin Texas has me wondering where they got their data from or were they estimated it because they sure didn’t take it from the Austin airport observation station which is actually reporting the conditions of the atmosphere.

So now the facts of this case have been presented to you it’s time for you to decide is 2012 the warmest ever, are we going through global warming or is it my famous statement “The earth is going through Cycles some of which are warm and some of which are cold.”- Meteorologist Joshua Kelly you can find more about my thoughts in my previously published article “Earth’s Cycles”.

The end CASE CLOSED until our next episode be safe and remember you decide…
