Best Android Apps For Black Friday

Nov 21, 12 Best Android Apps For Black Friday

The annual shopping free-for-all known as Black Friday is almost here. There are plenty of apps for your Android phone that will help with surviving the long day (or night) of maniacal shopping. Those using Google’s mobile OS have a couple of exclusives they should be sure to use for gloating over their iPhone friends.

Google Maps: Android users have a significant advantage over their iPhone with Google Maps offering indoor maps of many big box retailers and malls. The maps are also now available in the desktop version of Google Maps, so even if one does not have an Android phone they can still get a glimpse of indoor mapping.

Google Shopper: Fresh off of a version 3.0 update, Google Shopper will find competing prices by scanning the barcode, QR code, cover art or through voice/text search. The new interface gives it a magazine-like feel where one can peruse various product categories and look for deals.

Zoomingo: This is an excellent shopping app year round, yet it gets even better with its strong listing of Black Friday specials.

Price Check by Amazon: If you are a heavy Amazon user, grab this app to quickly scan a product’s bar code to find out if the price is less expensive from the online behemoth (it often is). Better yet, some retailers will now instantly price match.

RedLaser Barcode & QR Scanner: This was one of the first and still the best apps for scanning product codes. It will then give nearby prices and compare the product with other major retailers. Also very handy for scanning QR codes, which are becoming increasingly common in brick-and-mortar stores.

Black Friday App: It means what it says. This is a great addition for the amount of information containing specials, sales, and other deals found throughout the shopping universe.

Retailer apps: If you are targeting a specific big box retailer like Target, Walmart, or Best Buy it will probably be worth downloading those companies’ specific apps. Each has plenty of information about specific store specials, internal layouts, and specific information that may not be available in third-party apps.
