5 Free Mobile Apps To Help Lose Weight
A study from Northwestern University found that individuals who utilized mobile apps to track what they were eating and what physical activity they were doing lost an average of 15 pounds and kept the weight off for a minimum of a year.
In particular, the study was the first to demonstrate how the use of technology could help an existing weight loss program and contribute to further weight loss.
“The app is important because it helps people regulate their behavior, which is really hard to do,” explained the study’s lead investigator Bonnie Spring, a professor of preventive medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, in a prepared statement. “Most of us have no idea how many calories we consume and how much physical activity we get.
